Geek out if you dare....(b.y.o.l=bring your own lightsabre)
Well, I've finally added a post to my Star Wars blog. Prepare to be dazzled by the geekiness of it all! It's a long post in which I attempt (though I admit I started to run out of steam by the end, and felt the constant pressure from blog monkey to post something asap, not sure why since I think he hates Star Wars!). Anyway, I'm probably not saying anything (yet anyway) that's not obvious but if you're a fan(atic) like me and perhaps were born and raised on the original trilogy maybe you'll find it somewhat entertaining. Or not. Anyway, check it out if you want. I'll understand if you don't.

Well, since I cannot comment on your Star Wars blog unless I subscribe, I'll post here.
One word that is the death of all science fiction stories - the most evil character you can put into any sci-fi creation - COUNCILOR. Killed Star Trek, killed the Matrix, killed Star Wars. The moment you have a "Councilor so-and-so" introduced, it means the characters must stop and talk. And talk. Which means the writer/ creator could not explain parts of his 'motion picture' with 'motion pictures'.
I agree with everything you say about EP 1. For me, it boiled down to 'no clear protagonist'
oops, you mean I've got a setting that won't let you post there? doh!
k, i think i've changed it now so anybody can point and ridicule.
for me it boiled down to "bag of smelly ass-shit masquerading as a film", which i think may be similar.
and that pressure was me sidling up to you, sexy-like.
hi meinert!
Just saw it. I like it.
Haven't seen it...Is it worth it?
Whoa! Let me ask for some clarification: are you saying that you just saw Ep I and liked it, or you just saw my blog about how much I hate it and like my post? I hope the latter, because the former means you and I need to duke it out! Intellectually speaking of course....
And again, hamburger, if you're asking if watching Ep I is worth it the answer is, no, not unless you want to just have a good laugh and have something to bitch about. Depends how much of a Star Wars fan you are I suppose. For some it completely ruined even the good memories they had about the original trilogy. I went through that but now I'm in salvage mode and it's been good to figure out why the OT is better that the PT and why it worked etc and to let my questions and dissatisfaction fuel my imagination. But, as you can see, I'm a fanatic, I'm trying to get a whole blog about Star Wars off the ground!
I like the loooong Darth Serious post...
phew!
